Take Care of Your Hot Tub Cover!

Believe it or not, hot tub covers do require regular maintenance. Who knew, right? However, when it comes to cover care, all it takes is a little TLC to keep things in good working order which, in turn, will allow YOU the privilege of experiencing a little R&R night after night for years to come! Not sure what, exactly, it is that you need to be doing to care for your hot tub cover? No worries – we’ve got you covered (pun totally intended!)

  1. While some covers come pre-treated with UV protectants, it never hurts to add a couple more shields throughout the year (or as directed on the bottle of protectant you’re using).

  2. When using chemicals on jet cycles, take the cover off! The gases produced will put more wear and tear on the underside of your cover – so make sure to give your tub some breathing room…literally!!!

  3. Keep on top of cleaning your cover. Honestly, all it takes is a quick rub down with a little mild dish soap and warm water every once in awhile to keep on top of the cleaning schedule.

  4. Always repair tears or scratches! Don’t let them go “unnoticed” – trust us: they are not going to magically disappear; what they will do, however, is get worse.

  5. Finally, if you are going on a vacation or planning on an extended period of time where you won’t be using your spa, you might want to entertain the idea of covering your cover. We know, we know—it may not look the prettiest. But you will like the money saved of not having to replace the cover as quickly as you would be warranted if exposed to the elements for long stretches of time.

  6. Remember: your cover cares for your hot tub…so make sure to care for your cover!
