Thinking about purchasing a hot tub? That’s great! However, there’s a few things to keep in mind as you go through the process – after all, it’s a BIG investment and you want to make sure you’re placing it in a prime location to ensure maximum use and enjoyment!
- Privacy, access, views, surrounding plant life, etc are ALL key factors to keep in mind when deciding to locate your hot tub. Remember – a hot tub is supposed to help you relax…not stress you out more because you’re worried about having to traipse over rose bushes to get to it.
- Site inspections are often a good idea. With this, a trained inspector will help in determining the appropriate size of tub for your site, suggest alternative locations (if necessary) as well as aid in assuring the hot tub doesn’t violate any building codes. They can also let you know if your home’s electrical service will handle the added demands of a hot tub.
- Do you have any doors near the area you’re wanting to utilize for installation? It may not seem like a deal breaker BUT when it’s cold and windy you’ll definitely think twice about taking a soak if you’ve got to walk 40 or 50 feet to get to the hot tub; however, if it’s located just outside your bedroom door, for example, it will only take a few quick steps to reach your destination.
- Will the delivery people be able to get it where it needs to go? Always visibly check any and all access points to ensure an easy and successful delivery. This includes access through gates, under eaves, around AC units, as well as any other obstacles that may exist in the area.
